Dato' Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak
Hon. Prime Minister of Malaysia

"I bring to you the voice of Malaysians who are of no doubt that climate change, and the cataclysmic consequences arising from it are indeed real. Like many other parts of the world, we too have witnessed climate related disasters which were heart breaking and devastating.
I would also like to announce here in Copenhagen that Malaysia is adopting an indicator of a voluntary reduction of up to 40% in terms of emissions intensity of GDP by the year 2020 compared to 2005 levels. This indicator is conditional on receiving the transfer of technology and finance of adequate and effective levels from our Annex 1 partners, that correspond to what is required in order to achieve this indicator.

Malaysia is committed together with all other countries to do our best to combat climate change.

In conclusion, we also share the concerns with other developing countries for full participation, transparency and fairness of process, here in Copenhagen. Any decision or outcome must arise from the negotiations in which all countries participate."
There is increasing concern by the global community on global warming, alternative energy sources, innovation in energy services, sustainable development and fossil fuel and fuel security.

The growing demand for alternative energy sources has become catch cry from heads of governments, non-governmental organisations, the energy industry and the global community at large.

ASEAN Conference on Energy, Innovation and Sustainable Development is borne out of a need for a regional approach to energy and the need for countries to work in tandem with each other. In the ensuing years nations will be compelled to work together to ensure an environment that promises to be healthy. To this end the ASEAN Conference on Energy, Innovation and Sustainable Development will see the participation of 15 nations; Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and India.

Renowned speakers from across the globe will share their views and knowledge on the direction the energy sector should proceed for regional interests.

Industry players, innovators, research organisations, power generation companies, companies involved in the energy services sector, experts, professionals, decision makers and much more will attend the conference for the greater benefit of the egional and global population.

Do not leave yourself out of this conference as its an opportunity share your company profile with others and look at new business opportunities whilst acquiring knowledge on the developments in the energy sector.

Hope to see you at the ASEAN conference on Energy, Innovation and Sustainable Development that will be held on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 October 2010 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya, Malaysia.
